I’ve read through dozens of mantras and ultimately selected six. I was looking for mantras whose texts stood out to me for their philosophical and spiritual depth, and also those that I instantly felt drawn to work with. I knew I would work with the texts more freely, and most importantly: I knew I didn’t want to use them in the “traditional” way — repeating them hundreds of times.
My goal was to set these texts to music in a way where the instrumentation, sonic atmosphere, and structure of the compositions would bring out the essence and message of the mantras themselves.
These texts are incredibly wise, logical, beautiful, and full of love, and they remain relevant even in our 21st century.
That’s exactly why I want to share them with everyone who has ever questioned things in life, who is even just a little curious, and who doesn’t want to blindly believe everything others tell them without thinking or acting on their own.
These texts are thought-provoking. They inspire us to take action for ourselves.
And they teach us that unless we try to bring order and understanding to our immediate and wider environment, we won’t truly be able to feel happy within ourselves.
